When buying aluminum gutters for your home, you will have to choose whether you want a seamless or sectional gutter system. Gutters were being sold in pieces and sections for the past few years until when a new system was introduced. The sections were made in such a way that you could string them together over the whole length of your roof. You could use a sealant to connect a piece to the adjacent one. Different gutter pieces could just fit in any home.

In the new system, a single piece of aluminum can be molded to length and just installed as one piece as opposed to the previous system which used multiple pieces.

Seamless gutters provide a straight shot of unblemished metal from one end to the other. The gutter runs that stretch to corners need seams on either side of the corner.

Benefits of going seamless

  • Seamless gutters are easier to clean since they don’t give chance for debris to form a blockage. Seams usually form ridges at the bottom of the gutter which allows for the accumulation of debris which results in blockage. Moreover, seamless gutters have a uniform look as opposed to sectional pieces because they are made from a single sheet of metal.
  • Seamless gutters also minimize leaks. Seams could be well constructed with a good sealant but will begin to wear as time goes by, allowing water out of the gutter system.
  • Aesthetic value. Seamless gutters look much better than sectional gutters. They protect the good appeal of the property.
  • Better rate of return. Due to the less maintenance and repairs costs involved, they offer a much higher return despite the initial costs you incurred.
  • Give your home a tasteful new look. Seamless gutters are available in a variety of colors and materials which can suit your choice. They also come backed with enamel finish which lasts without requiring painting.
